LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTRE

The Library and Information Centre at
Alva’s Homoeopathic Medical College is a
hub of knowledge, supporting students,
faculty, and researchers in their academic
pursuits. Spread across 2,534.25 sq. ft. with
seating for 100 readers, it functions from

9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, providing a conducive
learning environment.
The library houses 7,823 books (6,896
textbooks and 927 reference books),
2,000+ e-books, 400+ e-journals, 29
journals (24 national and 5 international),
250 back volumes, and recent additions of
751 books and 747 departmental books.
Digital resources include HELNET, OPAC,
and online databases, while newspapers
and magazines such as The Week, Reader’s
Digest, Womensera, Sudha, and Taranga
keep readers updated.
Managed by Mr. Girisha Kotian (MLISc)
with Mrs. Rashmi, Ms. Deepika, and Mrs.
Usha Bangera, the library continues to
strengthen its resources with a proposed

₹6,28,906 budget for 2025–26, making it a
vibrant centre for learning, research, and
academic excellence.
