World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day

2026, the Department of Homoeopathic
Materia Medica, AHMC, organized a tree
plantation drive to promote environmental

awareness and sustainable living. Faculty
members and studentsenthusiastically
participated in planting saplings within the

campus premises, demonstrating their
commitment towards a greener and healthier
future. The activity highlighted the importance

of environmental conservation and encouraged
everyone to take responsibility for protecting
nature. The programme concluded with a

pledge to nurture the planted saplings and
contribute actively towards building an eco-
friendly environment.

Alva’s Homoeopathic Medical College,
Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Nursing, M.P.Ed.,
and B.P.Ed. organized a cleaning drive at
Handelu, Moodbidri, on 24th May 2026 with
the theme “Stop the Waste Reaching River.”
Students were divided into 25 groups and
assigned different areas of Moodbidri and
Vidyagiri for cleaning. Each group was
guided by a mentor. Our group was
mentored by Kurian Sir, Principal of the
Degree College.

The volunteers actively cleaned the surroundings and segregated waste into categories
such as plastic and glass. A large quantity of waste was collected, including used diapers,
alcoholic bottles, tobacco wrappers, plastic waste, and other non-biodegradable
materials.The drive created awareness about proper waste disposal, environmental
conservation, and the importance of keeping rivers and public places clean. The program
was a great success and encouraged students to take responsibility for protecting the
environment.
